GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Director of GSOC Services is responsible for strategic leadership, technical direction, and operational oversight of Tech Systems’ Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). This role includes internal management of 24/7 operations and
external advisory support for clients in designing, building, and improving SOC/GSOC environments. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to industry standards and certifications, implementing technology, supporting sales and business continuity planning, and representing GSOC expertise in client engagements. The Director will oversee staff performance, integrate emerging technologies, and drive continuous improvement to meet client-specific requirements. This role is critical to aligning GSOC services with evolving physical security and enterprise resilience needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Ability to consult with clients and assist with designing their SOC/GSOC to include physical layout, room orientation, HVAC, lighting, acoustics, lines of sight, security, certification, operator consoles, technology, video wall, DR considerations, etc.
  • In-depth expertise in operational processes, system integrations, and onboarding procedures.
  • Experience designing at least five SOCs/GSOCs projects from inception to completion, which may include client-facing, internal, or hybrid environments.
  • Ability to participate in high-level discussions and needs assessments with CSOs, CTOs, Security Directors, etc.
  • Contributes to RFP responses, client pitches, pricing models, and solution designs for outsourced monitoring services, supporting the GSOC's integration with business development teams.
  • Leads GSOC staff, including managers, analysts, and operators.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and protocols are documented and followed.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics to drive operational improvements and accountability.
  • Stay current with security technology trends and integrate enhancements to improve GSOC capabilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and platforms to increase efficiency and threat visibility.
  • Attends to other matters and duties assigned by the executive staff of Tech Systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION

  • A bachelor’s degree in security management, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, or a related field, with equivalent experience, is required.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with a wide range of security systems, including VMS, ACS, Video Analytics, Intrusion Alarm systems, Intercoms, Infant Abduction, Threat Intelligence, AI, Cloud & and on-premises.
  • ASIS CPP and PSP certification, preferred.

B. EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with platforms such as Immix is a plus, though not required; the ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability with various GSOC technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience operating an outsourced SOC/GSOC, including an understanding of business development, pricing, staffing requirements, current and emerging technologies, UL Certification, TMA Certification, ability to assist the sales team with presentations and quotes for services, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery consideration.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a corporate SOC/GSOC, including technology management, environment/facility, and staffing.

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & COMPETENCY

  • Excellent computer skills, including, but not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft 365 and general internet-based applications.
  • Membership in applicable Industry organizations, technical committees, and standards development committees.
  • General understanding of IT, including cybersecurity, routers, firewalls, etc., sufficient to engage with clients regarding the IT impact on SOC/GSOC Services.
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and a forward-looking approach to exploring new technologies are essential.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to anticipate future needs.
  • Operational agility in high-pressure, real-time environments.
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent team-building skills.
  • Client-focused with an ability to customize solutions and present value.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to manage and interact effectively and in a supportive manner with Tech Systems staff, vendors, and customers.

D. DRIVER’S LICENSE

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a clean driving record, acceptable to Tech Systems’ automobile insurance provider.

E. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Job duties are primarily performed remotely, which may require prolonged sitting at a desk. You must be willing and able to travel at least 25% of the time for client visits, team oversight, strategic planning sessions, and corporate meetings
