, ,GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The IT Generalist maintains and supports software, systems, and devices to ensure maximum uptime and adherence to security standards. This position is critical in supporting business operations by managing IT infrastructure, applications, and compliance initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
• Oversee the performance and operation of business applications to ensure they meet organizational needs.
• Assist with designing, deploying, testing, and supporting new software platforms that align with business objectives.
• Support the management and maintenance of Microsoft Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking.
• Provide system and user support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Configure and manage endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
• Assist in developing and maintaining local networks to optimize performance and ensure security.
• Identify and prioritize vulnerabilities based on impact and likelihood, and assist with remediation efforts.
• Ensure IT security vendors comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with maintaining and complying with ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001 standards.
• Maintain documentation related to IT security procedures and incident response.
• Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external security standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and IT system issues.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security and technology are integrated throughout all operations.
• Attend to other duties and tasks as necessitated by corporate in the assigned area and/or as assigned by the executive staff of Tech Systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
• An associate degree or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Preferred Certifications: CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, or Cisco.
B. EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT systems support role.
• Experience in installing and configuring hardware and software components.
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & COMPETENCIES
• Basic understanding of network concepts, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure, and related cloud services is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues across various platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven ability to create and maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, or Cisco.
D. DRIVER’S LICENSE
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a clean driving record, acceptable to Tech Systems’ automobile insurance provider.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Job responsibilities are primarily remote. The employee sits at a desk and uses a computer for extended periods. The role may require occasional driving or travel.
